Drilling Services
These larger diameter wells are drilled with our reverse circulation rig. Typically casing installations range from 10” up to 36” diameter casing, with borehole sizes up to 48” if necessary. As with domestic wells, we drill a test hole before anything else. The test hole is critical on these wells as maximum production is the goal. In order to maximize production, we sieve the aquifer material to determine the proper gravel pack and screen size.
Properly designing the well provides the best well efficiency, which relates to saved energy costs by the owner. It also greatly reduces the likelihood a well will produce sand, which relates to a greatly increased pump life. These wells can be constructed with a wide variety of materials which are determined based on the clients’ needs. We have completed wells of this kind in excess of 450’ in depth.

Other High Capacity Well Uses
High capacity wells serve more than just agricultural irrigation. We have installed these wells for a wide range of clients, from high end golf courses that have to keep the grass green to major industrial applications that require water for cooling.
Some clients have requested high capacity wells to be used for flooding waterfowl habitat. These wells are constructed economically while still providing high flow rates to create the best habitat in as short of a time frame as possible. If you have a waterfowl spot you’d like to flood, we can meet that need and stay on budget. For these projects, as well as ag irrigation, we also offer trenching services (image to the right) for high capacity pipelines.
